British tennis star Emma Raducanu wraps up her season and will keep trainer for 2026.

The British player made it to the third stage in three Grand Slam tournaments major tournaments in the current campaign.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from her final two events this season as a result of the illness she has been battling over the past 10 days.

At 22 years old was due to play in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to regain her health prior to beginning next year's training.

These plans will involve trainer Francisco Roig, as they have decided to continue collaborating again next season.

Raducanu underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round with Ann Li in Wuhan last week and retired when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

Another medical visit was necessary a visit from the doctor at the recent Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

Her movement was far from freely in the third set against Zhu owing to the lower back problem that has troubled her on several occasions in 2025.

Such performances meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the top 30 globally for the first time for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses.

She held three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in round three in last month's Beijing event.

Raducanu won 28 victories in the current season and made it to the semi-final round in the Washington tournament, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami Open in March.

Ranked first in Britain reached the quarter-finals of a premier WTA event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed en route prior to a loss in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She was coached by trainer Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role for the US Open.

The first plan with Rafael Nadal's former coach was for the remainder of the year but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in in the coming months.

The athlete revealed that the trial session with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She came very close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati during August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she advanced to round three prior to losing to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
