Online Platforms Response Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification versus the original listing because of the remapping. Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with other platforms. They have suggested members to check their listings and update the measurements by hand if necessary, which has left users frustrated. Sizing System Updates Earlier, the measurements included one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the sizing has been recategorised - for example a size L used to be a 12 but is now a UK 16-18. User Experiences A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Another user, from Glasgow, stated items she posted on Vinted with size 14 labels were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she explained. Required Changes Another shopper, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizing for "all her products". "Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she explained. Marketplace Information The platform boasts over 100 million members, including 18 million in the UK. It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance that an unexpected update within the service has received backlash: last year, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
